Firefighter/ Paramedic or Advanced EMT

Position: FIREFIGHTER/ PARAMEDIC or ADVANCED EMT
Pay Ranges:
Paramedic Current $55,006- $73,978
Paramedic as of July 1st, 2024: $57,509-$75,457
AEMT Current: $50,006-$67,252
AEMT as of July 1st, 2024: $52,281-$68,597
Requirements/Qualifications: Under the direction of the Fire Lieutenant, responsible for containing, suppressing, and extinguishing fires, rescuing individuals from life threatening situations, and administering life support services to injured persons, including the transport of sick and injured to medical facilities. Candidate performs assigned duties in accordance with established policies and procedures. Duties require knowledge of firefighting and emergency medical response equivalent to completion of a high school diploma plus advanced courses from a two year college or technical school and one to three years of related job experience, or any equivalent combination of education and experience.
Candidates must be licensed by the State of NH as an Advanced EMT or EMT- Paramedic and must possess National Registry Advanced EMT or Paramedic certification. Candidates must be certified Firefighter II or State of NH, Level II, and must maintain a valid State of New Hampshire CDL-B, Commercial Driver’s License with tank endorsement and air brake certification.
Candidates must have passed the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) as required by the NH Division of Fire Standards & Training within the past 24 months, or be eligible as a lateral transfer as indicated by NH RSA 21-P:27, Chapter 700, Part 701.01(a)(b)(d)(f) and 701.02.
Candidates must successfully pass an oral interview with the Town of Exeter, Fire Department.
