Town of Exeter New Hampshire Official Website

The Exeter Town Clerks Office is happy to announce that most Motor Vehicle registrations can now be done online. We are now accepting a single check payable to the Exeter Town Clerk for both the Town portion and State portion of your car registration. Please do not make your check out before you come in to the office.

We can also issue plates for new vehicles with proof of residency. You will also need to have proof of identity, so bring in your legal non-expired drivers license with you.  The process of renewing a registration can be done from the comfort of your own home, without waiting in long lines, by going to the Pay Online Page to process your vehicle by credit card or e-check.

Please see our office hours here.

Throughout this web page, we have attempted to answer the most commonly asked questions and explain the many facets of the process of automobile registration. Please navigate the site and if you still have a question, contact us. We appreciate your feedback.
