Pay Range:                                          $70,720 - $97,893 (12 step pay plan + excellent benefits)

Requirements:  The Town of Exeter is seeking a full time Health Officer.  The Health Officer is responsible for three critical functions: enforcing applicable NH laws and administrative rules, as well as local ordinances and relations; serves as a liaison between state officials, local officials and residents for local public and environmental health issues; and actively participates in efforts to develop regional public health capacities.  The responsibilities will include, but not limited to, inspections and licensing of all food service establishments; plan review for new and renovations of food service establishments; nuisance complaint inspections; landlord/tenant complaint inspections; childcare and foster care inspections; and participation in the EOC as directed; and other public and environmental health related activities to maintain conformance with public health regulations and laws. 

Qualifications:  The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Science degree in public health or environmental science preferred; experience conducting inspections of food service facilities, ServSafe certification or the equivalent; knowledge of state RSA’s, the FDA Food Code and the state food code; and EOC operations/ICS 100 training.
