Easily accessible from the Epping Road Corridor and located less than a mile and a half from the downtown area, Exeter's industrial commercial district provides spacious opportunities for local businesses' manufacturing, warehousing, distribution, research, and professional offices. 

The most popular categories of businesses in the industrial commercial district include industry and agriculture (48%), computers and electronics (12%), finance (8%), and organizations (8%).     

The industrial district is zones as "I - industrial."

In I, the town's zoning ordinances allow for the following uses:

  • Manufacturing
  • Light industry
  • Laboratory, research and development uses
  • Warehousing
  • Distribution plants
  • Truck terminals
  • Wholesale establishments
  • Mini storage buildings
  • Business, medical, and professional offices
  • Hotels/motels
  • Medical rehabilitation practices
  • Minimum lot area of 40,000 square feet (at least 150 feet in width and 200 feet in depth)
  • Maximum height of 50 ft
  • Minimum yard setbacks of 50 ft in the front and back and 20 ft on each side
