    Position                   Welfare & Human Services Administrator Part Time

    Hours                      Up to 27 hours per week (non-exempt)

    Pay Range             Grade 10 (Hiring range) up to $34.31 per hour

Town of Exeter is currently seeking a part time Welfare & Human Services Administrator.

General Duties:    Administer Welfare assistance following Town policies and procedures, State RSA 165 and Federal law, maintaining strict confidentiality of all client information.  Interview applicants, explain Town Welfare procedures, follow-up investigation, determine eligibility through qualification process.  Collaborate and negotiate with social service agencies to maintain effective relations, refer applicants, and advocate in obtaining resources for payment as appropriate.  Provide client with detailed written Notice of Decision.  Submit vouchers to Finance Department for direct payment.  Converse with related local, State, Federal and private agencies, vendors and landlords to maintain fully developed, effective programs and services.  Maintain accurate, detailed, confidential files and itemized accounts.  Provide detailed reports as needed. Prepares, maintains and updates Welfare Guidelines for Town Manager and Select Board as needed.  Coordinate and keep accurate records of reimbursements to Town.  Prepare Welfare budget.  Participate in Fair Hearings as needed.  Assist Human Services Funding Committee in preparation of budget and coordinate submittal to Budget Recommendations Committee. Administer Human Services Funding applications, contracts, and accounts payable.  Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

Requirements:        Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with an Associate’s Degree, with coursework in Business, Human Services, Counseling, Organizational Behavior, Government Administration or related occupational field.  Experience sufficient to understand the diverse objectives and functions of the position, usually interpreted to require three to five years of experience, preferably in a social services/human services environment; or any equivalent combination of education or experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities.
