2022 Bike Rodeo

Now that we’ve rested up after a busy weekend, we’d like to take a moment to thank the many families and children who turned out for Saturday’s Bicycle Rodeo held at Lincoln Street School.

The event was well attended and resulted in more than 50 helmets being given away thanks to a much-appreciated grant provided through the Injury Prevention Center at Children’s Hospital at Dartmouth (CHaD).

Detective Bruce Page, who is also our community resource officer, organized the rodeo in partnership with Exeter Hospital and the Exeter Fire Department along with assistance from Seacoast Crime Stoppers.

In addition to the helmet giveaway, D.A.R.E. Officer Steve Petroski offered some lessons in bike safety while Detective Bailey Teixeira assisted with the organization and laid out the obstacle course.

Deputy Fire Chief Jason Fritz and Firefighter Micah Wonyetye also provided basic bicycle mechanical checks on over 50 bicycles.

McGruff the Crime Dog made a special appearance as well with help from Billy Paquette of Seacoast Crime Stoppers.

Kristie Carrigan and Megan Moynihan of Exeter Hospital also provided snacks and checked to make sure helmets were properly fitted.

Thank you to everyone who came together to make this event a success. We’re already looking forward to making next year’s rodeo even better!
