COMMUNICATIONS DIVISION

DISPATCH

The Communications Division of the Exeter Police Department serves as the central hub for all emergency and non-emergency communications within the agency. Staffed by five Dispatchers and overseen by Communications Supervisor Jessica Shupe, the division provides critical support to both the public and on-duty officers by ensuring timely, accurate, and efficient information flow.

Operating 24 hours a day, the Communications Division is responsible for receiving and prioritizing incoming calls for service, including 911 emergency calls. Dispatchers gather essential information from callers, assess the nature and urgency of incidents, and relay that information to patrol officers and other emergency responders. They play a vital role in coordinating police, fire, and emergency medical services to ensure appropriate and rapid response.

In addition to call handling, dispatchers monitor radio communications, track officer status and location, and provide real-time updates to personnel in the field. They also access and input information into state and national databases, supporting officers with records checks, warrant confirmations, and other critical data.  The personnel assigned to the Communication Division are:
