Watch the swearing in ceremony at the April 13th, 2026 Select Board.
To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time the department has welcomed and sworn in this many officers at once, making it a truly special milestone for both the agency and the community it serves.
This moment represents more than growth in numbers; it reflects the positive momentum within the department and the Town of Exeter as a whole. It is a clear sign of continued investment in public safety, professionalism, and the future of the community.
Following the official oath administered by Town Clerk Andie Kohler, each officer will have the honor of receiving their Exeter Police badge, pinned on by their loved ones, an enduring symbol of commitment, pride, and the support system that stands behind each of them.
Officers Boucher, Overy, and Gilman are set to attend the 203 rd New Hampshire Police Academy in May, where they will begin the next phase of their training and development. Officer Dunlap, meanwhile, is on track to reach solo status by the end of the month, a testament to the town’s commitment to bring in officers with prior experience.
The Exeter Police Department is proud to welcome these four individuals into its ranks and looks forward to the dedication, integrity, and service they will bring to the community. This occasion not only celebrates their achievement but also highlights a bright and promising future for the department and the town.
