Exeter, NH - November 8th, 2023: Please welcome Joshua Zani-Conklin, a Navy veteran and volunteer Kensington firefighter/EMT who has joined our communications team as our newest dispatcher.

This will be a new experience for Joshua – a Texas native who spent nearly 13 years in the military and decided to settle in the area with his wife and children after his final stop brought him to the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

“This is a different side of EMS. I wanted to learn something new,” he said. “This is a lot different than being one of the ones on the ground out in the field.”

Joshua is looking forward to his new experience and gaining a better understanding of the critical role that our dispatchers play behind the scenes during emergencies and non-emergency situations.

“People don’t see what goes on on this end. They only see the people that arrive,” he said.

When he’s not at work, the father of six said he has little time for hobbies as he’s usually busy spending time with his family. “The kids’ activities keep my calendar full,” he said.

All of us here at the Exeter Police Department look forward to working with Joshua and we wish him much success on his new career path.
