Sensory Friendly Ceramics Classes
Sensory Friendly Ceramics Classes
Description: This welcoming ceramics class is designed to provide children (5+) with autism a fun, creative, and supportive environment to participate in ceramics. Participants will enjoy hands-on activities such as painting projects at their own pace. The class emphasizes sensory-friendly experiences, creativity, and self-expression while building fine motor skills, confidence, and comfort working with new materials. Instruction is gentle and flexible, with clear demonstrations, visual cues, and plenty of encouragement. Participants are free to engage in the activities in ways that feel comfortable to them—there is no “right” or “wrong” way to create. The focus is on the process, not the finished product. All materials are provided. This class is ideal for people who enjoy tactile play and creative exploration in a calm, structured setting. An adult must attend the program with child. Children must be at least 5 years old by the start of class.
