Flag Retirement Box Install at Town Office

Exeter, NH - April 30th, 2025: Eagle Scout Candidate James Haney installed a flag retirement box in front of the Town Office on Wednesday, April 30th, 2025. The 15 year-old first came to the Select Board to propose the idea after seeing many old and tattered American flags around town. He wanted to make sure these flags get properly retired and thought that installing a drop box would encourage residents to treat their flags with respect.

The Scouts will be collecting flags periodically to hold them for flag retirement ceremonies. The box is located by the sidewalk outside of the Town Offices at 10 Front Street.
