2026 Special Olympics Pickleball
CLASS DESCRIPTION: Exeter Parks & Recreation is pleased to work with Special Olympics New Hampshire to offer Special Olympics pickleball. Thanks to the support from Northeast Passage, EPRD will have 4 sport wheelchairs, a pickleball launcher, and adaptive paddle grips. We use high vis pink balls for the program and our team of dedicated Special Olympics volunteers is ready to teach and play at any pace. All are welcome at Special Olympics pickleball. Children must be accompanied by an adult. Special Olympics pickleball will be held Wednesday mornings from 10am-11am June 3-August 26. Registration is required. Any weather cancellations will be communicated by Exeter Parks & Rec via email.
INSTRUCTOR: Jim Tufts taught Physical Education and coached Soccer and Ice Hockey at Exeter High School for 42 years. He was director of the Special Olympics program at EHS since 1990 and has coached Special Olympics Teams from NH in National and International competitions. In 2003 he was recognized as National High School Association Coaches Association Special Olympics Coach of the Year. The Special Olympics Pickle Ball program has been running at the Exeter YMCA and Exeter Recreation Department once a week since 2022.
REGISTRATION: Registration begins April 29 and is open to Exeter and surrounding towns, on a first-come, first-served basis. Registrations are accepted at the Exeter Recreation Office during our business hours, on-line, by phone or mail. Payment must be paid at the time of registration.
