Employment Opportunities-Summer Staff & Lifeguards

Exeter Parks and Recreation offers several employment opportunities throughout the year.  We have summer camp positions, lifeguard positions, concession stand, referee positions, and facility supervisor positions.  Please fill out an application (attached below). Please return completed applications to the Exeter Parks and Recreation Department, 32 Court Street.

Basketball Referee: Referees are responsible for ensuring games are played safely, fairly, and within the rules. This role is perfect for anyone who loves basketball and enjoys working with kids and the community. We’re looking for reliable, confident, and fair-minded individuals to serve as Youth Basketball Referees for our upcoming season. Games are held on Saturday's at Lincoln Street School between 9am-4pm December-February. Pay: $30.00 per game. 

Gym Supervisor: The Exeter Parks & Recreation Department is seeking a responsible Gym Supervisor to oversee operations during our Youth Basketball Program. This part-time seasonal position plays a key role in ensuring a safe, organized, and positive experience for participants, and spectators. The Youth Basketball season runs from December-February. The program takes place weeknights and Saturdays at Lincoln Street School and Main Street School. Must be able to lift 40 pounds. Pay: $22 per hour.

Lifeguard Manager: Exeter Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a Lifeguard Manager to oversee lifeguards and swim instructors at the Daniel Healy Memorial Outdoor Pool while ensuring a safe, well-run aquatic facility. Working under the supervision of the Assistant Director, this role manages daily operations including staff scheduling, safety checks, rule enforcement, emergency response, and customer service. The Lifeguard Manager leads by example, upholds EPRD aquatic policies, and maintains a proactive approach to safety throughout the summer season. Lifeguard/Swim Instructor: Exeter Parks and Recreation Department is seeking Lifeguards and Swin Instructors to monitor activities and ensure the safety of patrons at the Daniel Healy Memorial Outdoor Pool. Working under the direct supervision of the Manager on duty, Lifeguards enforce pool rules, respond to emergencies, provide customer service, and assist with swim lessons and aquatic programming. Concession Stand Manager: Exeter Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a Concession Stand Manager to supervise concession staff and oversee daily operations at the pool and park facilities during the summer season. This role is responsible for scheduling, inventory control, cash handling, cleanliness, food service standards, and providing excellent customer service to pool patrons, campers, and visitors. Concession Stand Attendant: Exeter Parks and Recreation Department is seeking Concession Stand Attendants to provide friendly, professional service to pool patrons, summer campers, and park visitors throughout the summer season. This role supports daily concession operations by maintaining cleanliness, stocking supplies, assisting with food service, handling point-of-sale transactions, and following all safety and recycling procedures.
