Help Keep It Out of the Landfill

A list of QR codes to find alternative solutions and avoid landfilling some items

The Sustainabilty Advisory Committee has developed a handy magnet to help you find alternatives to sending some items to the landfill.

Clothing/Fabrics/Shoes

  • Helpsy - Clothing recycling bins at Parks and Rec at 32 Court St and 4 Hampton Rd and at the Transfer Station at 9 Cross Rd 
  • Clothing Recycling Bins at Lincoln Street School

Food 

  • Extra prepared food can be placed in the Exeter Community Fridge in front of the YMCA
  • Shelf stable foods caan be taken to the St. Vincent de Paul food pantry
  • Compost at the Transfer Station for free
  • Visit mrfoxcomposting.com to hire at home compost pick up from Mr. Fox 

Electronics

  • Staples in Stratham will take most household electronics: computers, printers, laptops, batteries, backpacks, soda stream canisters, and more!

Styrofoam

  • Bring to quarterly styrofoam collection days held by the Exeter Sustainability Committee. Sign up for the Town's email newsletter to get info about upcoming drives.

Plastic Bags

  • Bring your plastic film and plastic bags to the drop bin in the Hannaford lobby

Hazardous Waste

  • Save your hazardous waste such as paint, pesticides, motor oil, and more for the annual hazardous waste collection day at Public Works. 

Yard Waste

  • Drop off for composting at the Exeter Transfer Station

Single Stream Recycling

  • Aluminum cans, plastic bottles and containers labeled number 1, 2, 5, steel/tin cans, newspaper, glass food and beverage containers, mail, corrugated cardboard and more can all be recycled curbside. Visit the Public Works website for details.
