Styrofoam (also known as expanded polystyrene) Collection Event

You all did such a great job stockpiling your styrofoam that our transfer station collection bin is quickly overwhelmed.  To address the backlog of foam, we are having another collection event on March 7 from 9-11 at an off site location.  See details in the image.

The transfer station will still be open but if you have large amounts of foam to drop off, we hope you will bring it to this event.

Only ACCEPTABLE types of CLEAN styrofoam can be used.  Please check the list below before dropping materials into the bin!

The most common forms of contaminants are:

  • dirty materials
  • foam that is not labeled #6 polystyrene
  • packing peanuts
  • flexible foam (often used in electronics packaging or pipe insulation)

WHY DOES IT MATTER?

Tossing the wrong materials can break our brand new machine or impact our ability to sell the materials to offset machine costs.

YOU CAN HELP!

Follow the materials list.

Spread the word.
