Extreme Heat Warning - Cooling Centers Activated

Exeter, NH - July 1st, 2026: Due to the extreme heat this week, the Town has activated two cooling centers for residents. With temperatures in the upper 90s and a heat index of between potentially 95-105 degrees, it is important for residents to take the heat seriously.

The following cooling centers will be open on Wednesday and Thursday this week:

  • Exeter Parks and Recreation (10 Hampton Road)
    • 7/1 & 7/2 from 8:15 AM to 4:15 PM
  • Exeter Public Library (4 Chestnut Street)
    • 7/1 & 7/2 from 9 AM to 8 PM

*Both buildings will be closed on Friday and Saturday in observation of Independence Day. 

 

Closures:
  • The July 2nd Farmer's Market in Swasey Parkway has been canceled.
