Winter Storm Response - Snow Removal & Emergency Parking Ban - Town Offices Closed
Snow Emergency Declared
Exeter, NH - February 22nd, 2026: The Town of Exeter is closely monitoring a winter storm expected to impact the area beginning late Sunday night, February 22, and continuing through Monday, February 23. Current forecasts call for snow to develop overnight, with 1–3 inches possible before sunrise Monday. Snow is expected to intensify throughout the day on Monday as colder air and moisture move into the region, resulting in additional snowfall and hazardous travel conditions.
In anticipation of these conditions, and to allow Public Works crews to safely and efficiently plow and treat roadways, a Town-wide parking ban will begin at 11:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 22, and remain in effect until 6:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
All vehicles must be removed from public streets during the emergency parking ban.
Vehicles left on the roadway may be ticketed and towed at the owner’s expense.
Updates will be shared on the Town website and on the Police and Town social media channels if changes are necessary.
More information about the Winter Parking Ban and available off street parking can be found on the Winter Parking Ban web page.
Town Offices will be closed on Monday.

Help Public Works Before the Storm
To help Public Works’ Crews efficiently and effectively remove snow from Exeter’s roadways and sidewalks, residents are asked to assist with:
- Clearing sidewalks of debris, trash cans, recycling bins, planters, and other decorative items prior to a storm
- Ensure parked cars are not blocking sidewalks
- Keep excess snow from your property off of public streets and sidewalks
- Reduce speed, turn on headlights, and maintain a safe distance from plow drivers
- Adopt a fire hydrant: If you have a fire hydrant near your home, consider helping emergency services by keeping access to hydrants clear of snow
