Exeter Parks and Recreation Waitlist Policy

When a program, activity or event becomes full, a waitlist will be started. Payment will not be taken when being added to the waitlist. Residents and non-residents can join the waitlist online, over the phone, or in person. If a spot becomes available, priority will be given to Exeter residents in the order they joined the waitlist followed by non-residents in the order they joined the waitlist. The Exeter Parks & Recreation Department will call those listed on the waitlist to notify if a space opens. Response and  payment must be made within 24 hours of notification to secure your registration. Please note, each individual interested in joining the waitlist for the program, activity, or event must be listed on the waitlist in order to be eligible to register should space become available.

 

 

 

**Please Note:  A processing fee of 3% will be charged as a separate transaction on your credit card bill, and will not appear on your final invoice.

Exercise

Keeping up with fitness as we age is one of the most important things to staying healthy and preventing injury. This program will provide multiple exercises to target and strengthen parts of the body that are most crucial for maintaining strength, balance, and injury prevention as we age. Every exercise seen on this program can be done from the comfort of your own home with little to no necessary equipment.

Chair Yoga

Back pain
Easing and Eliminating Back Paid presented by Bodywise Physical Therapy & Wellness

 

Join us for an engaging lecture on how to ease back pain. As we age, the risk only increases due to various factors – but there are ways to lessen the pain! This lecture will be a friendly informative session that will help learn practical self-care strategies, gentle exercises and everyday adjustments to make at home that will help ease discomfort and enable you to move more comfortably.  Dress for light movement.

Move with Ease, Exercising with Arthritis  presented by, Bodywise Physical Therapy & Wellness

 

If arthritis pain or discomfort affects you, this exercise class is a must! Gentle yet challenging and senior friendly, the program focuses on improving joint flexibility, strength and balance. You’ll learn exercises and everyday movements that can help reduce pain and increase your overall mobility. Dress for light exercise movement. Mats will be provided.

Exeter Parks & Recreation will have an agent from United Healthcare to answer any questions you may during this year's Open Enrollment period. Visit with a professional health insurance agent to discuss Medicare options at no cost. Our "Open Office" hours are available to anyone looking for more information. 

 

Adults Lunch & Games

Join EPRD staff and others for some socializing at Exeter Bowling Lanes. Staff will facilitate games that the group is interested in, from bowling, darts, billiards card games or even just conversation. Lunch is included in registration and participants will have options to choose from such as: sandwiches, salad, pizza and more! We are excited to start this weekly game club at one of Exeter’s unique establishments. Please note bathrooms are not fully ADA accessible. There is a ramp to enter the building.

Santa Gourd

Come try a craft that combines nature and painting – Make your own Heirloom Santa gourd! You’ve admired them at craft fairs (and fainted at the price!), come learn to make your own. The first class, learn how to paint Santa with special emphasis on his eyes! In the second class, we’ll paint a cynical Santa tree ornament from a gourd. These make a great small gift. Bring your enthusiasm, and all other materials will be provided.

Needle felting for beginners

Come try an engaging and creative craft – needle felting! It’s a basic ‘how to’ sculpt with wool. Bring your enthusiasm, and all other materials will be provided.

Fall: 

Come try an engaging and creative craft – needle felting! It’s a basic ‘how to’ sculpt with wool. All you need is some wool, a mat, a needle and patience to produce a felted garland for your wall or Christmas tree, or a sunflower wall hanging and a small pumpkin.

The culinary playground

EVENT: Thanksgiving is the week after this class, and you’ll make both a pumpkin and apple pie! The apple pie will need to be baked at home or freeze and bake for Turkey Day. Lunch will be at MaryAnn’s Diner in downtown Derry, prior to our class. Lunch is at 11:00 am.

DATE: The date selected is Wednesday, November 19, 2025. We will depart the Exeter Recreation Center parking lot (at 10 Hampton Rd) at 9:45 am and will be returning to Exeter between 2:30 pm and 3:00pm.
