Level 4 Water Restriction

Due to worsening drought conditions, the Town has issued a Level 4 water use restriction as described in Exeter’s Town Ordinance Chapter 16 section 1610.5 effective September 5, 2025. This restriction bans most outdoor water use. The Town water supplies are finite and decreasing with only minor precipitation predicted.
These Activities are Restricted:
- No watering of residential landscape areas (lawns or landscapes)
- No washing of vehicles
- No washing down paved surfaces
- No filling of swimming pools (> 100 gallons)
Any violation of the water restriction will be subject to penalties as described in Chapter 16 section 1610.9 of the Exeter Town Ordinance.
Conserve water to preserve it for drinking, sanitation, safety fire suppression.
