UPDATE 4/23/25: As of 7 AM this morning, all crossings are open and there are no road closures due to this project. 

June 30th, 2025: The Select Board heard updates from NH DOT at their meeting on June 30th, 2025. Public Works and NH DOT updated the board on the current status of the bridge and took questions from the board and the public. The Exeter Public Works Department will be mowing the cross-country sewer main along the Town’s right-of-way from Phinney Lane to Gilman Lane. This work is set to begin on Tuesday, November 12, 2024. Mowing will be performed during the day between the hours of 7:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Weather permitting this work will take approximately two (2 ) weeks to complete. The equipment to be used will be a mini-tracked excavator with a flail mower. The work is expected to be finished by November 26th, weather permitting. Abutters of this project will be notified.

8/5/2025: Industrial Way will receive its final top coat of pavement on Wednesday, August 6 and Thursday, August 7. The road will remain open but reduced to one lane of traffic during the work. Please plan accordingly.

Permit Requirement: Per Town Ordinance (Chapter 11 - 1101.1), Transfer Station permits must be affixed to the inside lower left corner of the vehicle's windshield for entry validation and traffic flow.

Epping Road Widening - Continental Drive to Cronin Road

7/26/24 - The sewers are all constructed and active as required by the project.  The previous siphon has been discontinued.  For next week, there is another sewer manhole cover in the parkway that needs to be lowered and landscaping activities will continue.  

7/26/24 - The roadway shoulders and sidewalks are completely paved.  Next week pavement striping will occur after a NHDOT inspection and approval.  The loamed areas will be hydroseeded.  There will be ongoing periodic work around the rapid flashing pedestrian beacon to install additional overhead lighting.

The Public Works Department conducted an evaluation of existing town roadway intersections to inform decisions on future expenditure of Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) funds and provide a base for further future evaluation.

7/31/2025: Water Main Break – Westside Drive

A water main break has occurred at 55 Westside Drive. In order to complete the necessary repairs, the main line will need to be shut down. This may result in a temporary water service interruption for the entire Westside Drive neighborhood.

2/18/2025: Overnight Snow Removal: Public Works crews, with the assistance of contractors, will be conducting overnight snow removal operations in the Downtown Area (Water Street, Center Street, High Street to Buzzell Ave, Front Street to Spring Street), and on Lincoln Street and Portsmouth Ave, to clear intersections and remove accumulated snow from high-traffic areas. Operations will begin at 11:00 PM on Wednesday, February 19th, and continue through the night. Please avoid these areas if possible. Work will include the use of  snowblowers, sidewalk tractors, front-end loaders and dump trucks, and will generate noise during operations. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to keep the community safe.

Fall leaf pick-up will be during the week of Thanksgiving, November 20th-25th.
